I arrived home from Uni one Thursday in late October to find a message asking me to ring the Moorabin Constabulary, because they had charged a youth over the ignominious ending of Egbert. I went forth to give a statement. Apparently, they had arrested a 17 year old for an armed robbery, and his prints matched those in Egbert. According to the detective who took my statement, the same idiot had stolen a car from Normanby Road on the same night he took my Egbert away. Charges have been made, and the trial is in December. I'll almost certainly never get anything back, but at least I know the dickhead has been caught.
