ROUND
PLATFORM
| A
While ago, when it was over 40 degrees one day when I was at HGC
I was eating frozen Yogurt, cause it tastes good, and it's the
only frozen thing you can buy singly from the supermarket, when
something struck me. The pot it comes in is just about exactly
the height of a bulk head. So when I got home, I made this little
platform. It's got no base so if I make more, they can be stacked
allowing for a taller tower. |

Glue
the old CD to the top of the upturned pot. Now, since there is
a great ugly hole in the middle of the CD, glue the plumbing fitting
over the middle. For good measure, and added height, glue the
paint pot lid over that.
Now, turn the pot upside down, and get some C-Channel. Measure
the distance between the bump at the top of the pot, and the CD.
Subtract about 1.5cm from that, and mark it on the C-Channel. Make
another mark about 1.5cm from that, and a final one about 2.5cm
from that. Cut the C-Channel at the final mark. Now, take a triangular
file, or knife, and remove wedges from the Channel at the other
two marks so it bends. |
 |
Glue the long piece to the pot first, then bend the others into position.
You should end up with a diagonal piece which looks like bracing. Trim
the end projecting from the CD.
Now, add plenty of thin-card plates and details. I used C-Channel and
some old tank parts. Cut strips of plastic rod to represent rivets on
everything, and paint.
I used neutral grey on the pot, and metalics everywhere else, garnished
with some carefully picked transfers from Model cars, and old minis.
